My Summary
About Me
I was born in Madeira, which is a little island located in Portugal and i moved the London at the age of 8 so my English is very fluent and even better then my Portuguese. I have two younger brothers, one aged 5 and the other aged 11, both are Autistic and i have had to take on a great carer role for them as my parents were often busy working, because they are Autistic i've learnt to be very patient whilst dealing with children. Within my family i have always been the childcarer which made me fall in love with working with young children, i love nurturing and giving them a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings as well as space for development.
I completed all of my seven GCSES, and even decided to do an extra one so i have eight in total. I then moved on to doing A- levels and managed to achieve two A's and one B. During my A-level time i found my self with some spare time on my hands so i decided to do some work experience in a primary school where i got to work with reception kids, year 3 kids and i even had the privilege of being able to spend a couple of days working alongside other teachers at the Autism base.
Currently i am a student at the university of King's college London studying social sciences, however, i will not be attending university for about 6 months so i will be free to work 7 days a week, which is why i wanted to take the opportunity to get into childcare for the time being.
In the future i want to work with kids and become a primary school teachers so that i can help foster young minds.
My Experience
Ive had quite a lot of experiences looking after children however i am now looking to expand that experience.
Growing up i looked after both my brothers (younger) aged 5 and 11 now, they are both on the Autism Spectrum so i have developed a lot of patience when dealing with kids. Ive had to look after them most of the time, this means cooking for them, feeding them, making sure they are bathed and ready for bed, and then putting them to sleep.
I also conducted a work experience week in a primary school where i worked with reception kids, year 3 kids and got to spend some time in their amazing autism base working alongside autistic children.
I also have a little sister, she is 3 years old and is hyperactive ive looked after her a couple of times and have come up with loads of strategies to help her manage her symptoms.
