About Me

A little bit about me…
My name is Samantha and I'm a mum to three wonderful children, one girl and two boys, who are; 8, 7 and 4. We live on Berkley Close (Highwoods) which is a great location to the A12, hospital and town centre. My children and I love days out exploring different places. Rain or shine, the weather doesn't deter our fun. Family and friends are really important to us and so we regularly enjoy get togethers and days out with them.

My Setting
I pride myself on the fact that my setting is a real home from home setting, making the children feel as if they are part of my family. As the parent, you know your child better than anyone else. It is important to me to work closely with parents to ensure I'm giving your child the best possible care. When a child starts, I like to get an idea of the child's likes and dislikes. This helps me to plan a few ideas to help them settle in whilst I am getting to know them. Your input of information and ideas to help your child whilst in my care is always welcome along with any feedback. I use the Cradle app to upload pictures, information, policies, procedures and contracts.

Whilst in my setting, my children will have access to the full downstairs area. I have a large living room with lots of space to play, the kitchen has a dining area where children will eat their snacks/meals. Messy play will be in the kitchen or outside. The children have access to the downstairs toilet which is extremely handy when it comes to potty training! I also have a lovely garden for the children to play and explore in.
I believe that children learn best through play. I will provide and plan lots of different activities to aid your child's development based around play. Whilst planning different activities, I like to choose themes based on the children's interests.
Activities set out by myself will include lots of opportunities for messy play, tuff tray setups, sand play, arts and crafts, music, dancing and lots more.
Alongside activities that I set out, the children will have free access to drawing, crafts, role play, games, puzzles, and lots of toys!
Each day will enjoy the outside (unless extreme weather), whether that be in the garden or an outing. I believe it is very important for children to experience different environments so we will be exploring different places such as local play parks, woodlands, beaches, library, farms etc.

As a registered childminder, I must deliver the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage to all children in my care up to the age of 5. The EYFS is split into 7 learning areas and it is my job to help your child to meet each of the age related development milestones and goals to gge best of their abilities.
