My Summary

My Experience

As i was saying previously I work at a playscheme, called Snap, (special needs adventure playground) during summer and Have been in attendance for the past 3 years. This year I was a senior Playworker which meant I lead trips , was in charge of making sure everyone was safe , cash handling and overall making sure all of the kids had the best summer of their life’s. This runs for 6 weeks during summer and I went every week day I could. Even trying to balance 2 jobs at once just so I could attend. In this role I work with children with special needs, from ages (5-17) and learn great skills, including personal care, hygiene control, childcare, caring and i am looking at expanding my training in seizure training, tube feeding and much more. I am fully first aid trained and l'd also love to learn makaton and BSL. Snap opened my eyes to my true passion which is to teach, and care! In this role I worked with many children ranging from less severe disabilities to severe disabilities and i overcame many things when working with this group, I expanded on my patience, empathy, and caring techniques. This job was not in the slightest bit easy but I loved absolutely everything about it and would do it everyday if I could. I am also a young carer for my younger sister at home with cerebral palsy so already have loads of experience in the field and she is definitely one of the main reasons I love it so much. I hope once I get my degree as a teacher that I’m able to travel and teach those in need all over the world.

My Qualifications

Currently I am fully first aid trained and certified by St John’s ambulance service. I attended St Andrews and st brides highschool and left with all the right results to finally start my course this coming august. I am starting a HNC in childcare which is equivalent to 1st year university. In college I will be on placement at Greenburn primary school where I’ll be spending time working with children with ASN, and then will go on to complete my second year of this course. From here I’m planning on going to the university of Glasgow to become a teacher which is my dream. I also again worked at snap and am a part time carer for my sister with cerebral palsy so I like to think Im pretty good :)

My Availability

I’m available most days atm and I’m looking to make this my full time job so I can leave my current retail job whilst I’m at college:)

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.50 per hour

At my job currently I’m on £12 an hour which is great but it’s not what I want to do. I want to do something I love even if that means settling for a little less money :) I’d like to roughly ask for £11 an hour but would settle for £10:50
