My Summary
About Me
I enjoy doing many things such as cooking/baking and I love to get children involved as it teaches them important skills in the kitchen which will be used everyday in life, I enjoy going to the gym to live a healthy lifestyle as I believe health is wealth!, I love to read books as it increases knowledge, helps with speech, language and thinking skills and going to the library is something I love to do with the children.
I am caring, patient, reliable, creative and good at using my initiative to take lead and deal with problems such as challenging behaviour, I am very good at communicating with parents, children and a good listener. I understand how important it is to communicate with parents at all times about their children, any worries I might have and giving feedback about what is going well. I have the experience to care for children as well as helping them develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and their language development which will help shape children into happy, intelligent and independent people who carry these traits into adulthood. I am very flexible and can change my routine around to fit the families schedule as I understand unexpected things happen.
My Experience
Since a young age I always knew I would want a career with children so at the age of 15 I did work experience for a few months working with children in nursery/reception. I did many things such as reading books, helping them with their work, helping them dress as well as teaching them, plan and set up activities to help develop communication and social skills.
I really enjoyed working with nursery/reception so at the age of 16 I went to college to study level 1 health and social care and early years where I did 2 days work placement for a year working with children in nursery, reception, year 1 and 2. I did many things such as listen to children read books helping them read and spell, plan and set up activities for different abilities such as learning disability, clean and organise the classroom such as disinfect toys, help children with their work in groups and one to one, encourage good behaviour by using positive attitude by remaining in a warm and calm manner, I also had to deal with wide range of scenarios such as challenging behaviour For example a child hitting/kicking another child, I observed their behaviour and moved the child away and identified the reason they could be behaving like this and told a teacher. I did 3 days in college where I learnt to safeguard children, growth and Development of children and many more which is shown on my qualifications.
After I got my qualification I did level 2 childcare apprenticeship working with babies (6months- 1 year), toddlers, preschool and after school club children. I did many things such as help dress children, cut fruits for snack time, read books and sing songs during circle time, put babies to sleep, help feed children during lunch, supervise children and provide a safe environment for children to play and learn, set up and plan activities inside classroom and playground, pick up after school club children and bring them to the daycare and give them food, clean and tidy classroom, wash dishes and equipment, deal with challenging behaviour such as children fighting, arguing and being upset and using my initiative to solve the problem, do activities with children in groups (this helps children learn from each other) and one to one (this helps me give all my focus on one child with no distractions to help them overcome anything they may be struggling with)
I then went into babysitting/nanny where I babysat a 3 year old boy for a month, 7 month old baby girl for 5 months, 5 month old baby girl for over a year until she was almost 2 while their parents were at work, I also travelled with the family for 7 days to Saudi taking sole charge of daughter when she was 1, babysat 2 year old and 5 old year old boy, 5months old boy and 8 year old girl (I babysat for many families and age) I did many things such as help children with their development by preparing activities to help them learn and be entertained using resources that are available or bringing in my own such as balloons or paper, I made sure babies/children were taking their medicine, take children out on walks and to the park as well as teaching the older children how to stay safe when outside, crossing the road, interacting with strangers and what to do if you ever get lost, plan and cook healthy food, give bath to younger children creating a safe, relaxed time to play, read books helping them with their spelling, play with toys using our imagination, organise children cupboards/toys, light tidy house and clean up any mess made, communicate with parents about what their children are doing, any concerns such as children not eating their food or ideas I might have that can help families.I have been a nanny to many different children newborn (overnight stay), 5month to 12year olds (school drop off a pick up).

I employed Amina for a short term pick-up and drop off job during the summer holiday. She made the effort to visit and my children got to meet her and familiarise themselves with her. Since I was at work, Amina made the effort to communicate with me via video call so that I could see my children at the holiday club they got dropped off at from my mum’s. Overall, it was a very good experience.
