About Me
Am a recently retired headteacher who has always been passionate about helping children to enjoy learning while young and so succeed in lifelong learning.
Have been helping to care for my grandson since retiring and now he starts school I feel ready to resume my passion more widely by tutoring primary age pupils again.
My Experience
Over twenty five years class teaching experience in three London primary schools including core subject leadership posts and eventually eleven years of headship.
Have taught all age groups in primary school over my career and individual and small group catch up lessons in Maths and English with excellent success.
Assessment of pupils strengths and challenges/barriers to learning prior to teaching has been my strength and pathway to eventual success in tutoring.
Have experience of tutoring for common entrance exams/11+ and scholarships with excellent success.
Since retiring in Jan 2021 and caring for my grandson who begins school in September I have remained involved in education through early years practice over this break.
My Qualifications
B.Ed (Hons) First Class (ft Maths English)
National Professional Qualification for Headship with strength noted in coaching skills
on certificate (evidence available)
Tutoring on a 1:1 basis and small group for Reading & Maths SATs
