My Experience

I have eights years of experience working with children in a variety of different capacities. I completed my early education apprenticeship in a federation of two nurseries, one being a forest school, working with children aged between six months to seven years. The forest school ethos and education is one I am passionate about and love to bring into my practice as I feel it benefits all children in their holistic development. I cared for a lot of the children outside of the nursery as well and eight years on still have contact with their families after creating such positive relationships.

After I qualified as an EY practitioner I moved to London and nannied for a private family of three children aged, five, seven and 11. This role allowed me to care for the children before school and after school. During the days I would maintain household chores and prepare for the children in the evening.

I moved to Leeds in 2020 to complete my undergraduate degree in sociology at Leeds Beckett university. During my time at university I nannied three days a week for a private family of three children aged, two, four and six years old. It was my role as their nanny to take them to and from school and nursery as well as creating enriching activities for them when they came home. I also helped to cook dinner for the children and care for them if they were off school unwell.

During my PGCE I was able to complete four different placements, one in an SEND reception class, a year 2 two class, a reception class and a nursery working with children aged 3 months to four years. All of these placements I passed with outstanding which is something I am very proud of. They all offered me such an array of new education and have allowed me to be the best practitioner I can be.
