About Me
I have a passion for helping and teaching children with dyslexia and associated learning difficulties. My aim is to provide effective support and a safe space in which each child can be inspired and discover what they can achieve. I endeavor to teach in the way that suits the individual child and spend time discovering their preferred learning style, enabling the best chance of success. I believe that it is important to help children acquire the right mind-set to learn by discovering their strengths and exploring how they learn best. I provide in person, one-to-one, multi-sensory education that engages different learning pathways to help learners discover strategies to help them in their learning. My lessons are tailored to address specific difficulties, practical and fun, offering plenty of opportunities to 'over-learn' the material covered using games and hands-on resources.
I am empathetic, kind, patient and enjoy making lessons fun/creative.
My Experience
My recent training in specialist teaching gave me a comprehensive insight into identifying personal targets for learners and to develop multisensory teaching based on specific needs.
My experience focuses on:
Assessing literacy and numeracy skills of learner experiencing difficulties associated with dyslexia/specific learning difficulties
Interpreting test results and observation of responses and behaviour during assessment
Planning lessons based on background information and assessment data
Delivering specialist learning programmes
Using reports from other professionals to plan teaching
