My Requirements

We are looking for a nanny/carer to help look after our two boys aged 5 and 9. Initially we are looking for support between 6-8pm weekday evenings when school starts again in September.

Our 9 year old is autistic so experience working with autistic children or knowledge of the condition would be useful. He is very communicative and articulate but can have problems with ritualised behaviours (such as compulsive handwashing) and emotional regulation. This can make evenings when we have to do the bathtime/bedtime routine for both boys challenging when either my wife or I are away working (as they have different bedtimes and routines).

We would like support looking after predominantly our nine year old during this time frame, although there may be times when my wife and/or myself would be with him and a nanny could potentially help our 5 year old instead.

Our 9 year old can wash himself and get ready for bed independently, but requires supervision and support either side of these activties as we've found he is calmer when he has one to one attention. Our 5 year old still requires help washing himself and getting ready for bed, and does not have any autistic or related traits.

If this arrangement proves successful we could look to extend it to start earlier in the afternoon and potentially part of the weekend if that suits all parties.
