About Me
Hello my name is Rachel. I am heading into my third and final year at university studying BA primary education.
I believe in offering children positive and enriching experiences that will support their learning and development in an environment that is supportive and nurturing.
Due to my course I have gained experience teaching and supporting primary aged children in reception, year 2, year 5, year 6 and a mixed year group class for children with additional needs. A key interest of mine is play which lead to me choosing it as my dissertation topic and spending many hours researching how to best support and use play to support children’s learning and development. Additionally, I have gained experience by looking after my 3 lovely nieces since they were toddlers.
I believe in a child centred approach to suit the needs and interests of each individual child to provide them with positive and enriching experiences.
A quote from my university link tutor that summarises the service I will provide “a strong, calm, patient, flexible, adaptable individual who thoroughly enjoys their work”. I have a DBS check and copies of placement reports that I can provide you with. I’m more than happy to support with homework, cooking and housework.
My Experience
-Heading into third year studying a Bachelor’s degree in primary education.
-Gained experience teaching, planning activities and learning and supporting children through placements for university in reception, year 2, year 5, year 6 and a mixed classroom for children with complex needs.
-Spent a lot of time researching play, childrens development and learning. Additionally, spent a lot of time researching how to utilise outdoors to support childrens development.
-Gained experience looking after my three lovely nieces since they were toddlers.
My Qualifications
University: heading into final year of my degree in primary education.
Sixth form: CTECH health and social care grade merit, English language grade C and sociology grade B.
GCSES: English literature grade 6, English language grade 5, maths grade 4, RE grade 6, Spanish grade 7, sociology grade 6, history grade 4 and geography grade 4.
I can speak a little bit of Spanish and I am currently in the process of learning British Sign Language.
My Availability
I’m on my summer break from university at the moment so my availability is quite high.
