My Experience

I’ve been taking care of kids since I was a teenager as I have a sister who's 10 years younger than me and my parents worked all day.

For 2 years (2013 – 2015), I worked on the weekends for my local church taking care of the kids (around 10-15 children aged 1-12 yo), where I was responsible for entertaining them with stories, playing some creative and developmental games, and rehearsing for performances. Also during holidays I used to volunteer at my church’s summer camp being responsible for watching and playing with the kids while helping them achieving milestones and implementing age appropriate discipline and boundaries.

During this period, I used to babysit children aged 6 months to 5 years old on some evenings, when I was responsible of all the tasks regarding their well being, such as bathing, feeding, playing and putting them to sleep.

In August 2023, during a visit to London, I looked after my 5-year-old cousin who's autistic, three days per week, being responsible for playing with her, helping her achieve milestones and teaching her about boundaries, whilst also fixing everything else regarding her well-being like bathing, food prepping and feeding, entertaining and putting her to sleep. I'd be back to London later that year, when I had the same responsibilities, but now twice a week and also on some weekends, from November to January 2024.

Currently, I'm working as a live in nanny in which I have sole care from the early morning until bedtime of a 5-year-old boy and a 8-tear-old girl. I'm responsible for waking them up in the morning after preparing their breakfast and lunchbox, getting them ready and dropping them at school. In the meantime, I'm back home for some light housekeeping regarding the kids. Later, after picking them up from school, I usually take them to afterschool activities or just spend some nice quality time outdoors. Some of my other responsibilities includes implementing age appropriate discipline, setting boundaries and helping them achieve milestones by teaching everyday tasks for development.
