About Me
Briar Cottage is located in Cliffe village.
We take full advantage of our location . Weekly walks in the paddock across from our setting, visits to the local farm shop to choose our own fruit and veg, visits to the lakes to feed ducks and spot wildlife (some endangered).
We love Montessori style play areas and have modelled our setting from this.
Wooden toys and furniture, open ended toys, set up encouraging independence and confidence.
Inclusivity is one or our highest priorities. Ensure EVERY child feels equal, heard and celebrated.
Part of our curriculum is to ensure daily walks, emotional check ins as well as targeting all the areas of learning through activities and open ended play.

Heather looked after our 2 little boys for 2 years before I took maternity leave to have my third child. She was absolutely brilliant and I would recommend her whole-heartedly. She had a genuine affection for the children and such a lovely relationship with them. They still talk about what they used to get up to with her. Heather has a great sense of fun. She would organise all sorts of activities for them in the house, but also took them on amazing trips including to museums in London and on lovely countryside days out.
I found Heather very easy to get on with and very flexible. Once my younest started pre-school in some mornings was happy to fill the extra time tidying the house and doing odd jobs for us.
