Hi,
I’m Lisa, I’m married and have an older teenage son. I also have 2 dogs and a hamster!
I work full time in a primary school in the Wakefield area.
I have a good sense of humour, I’m very patient and nurturing and I love supporting children who need different strategies to help them to learn.
I work at their pace and I always celebrate their small steps of achievement.
My Experience
I have over 13 years experience of working in a primary school.
I have supported quite a few children with SEND from year 3 through to year 6. Children with Global Developmental Delay, Autism, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, nonverbal children, children with hearing loss (cochlear implants with a radio aid), children with cerebral palsy and children with anxiety.
In some year groups I have worked completely independently from class with a child/group of children and with support from the SENDCo and external professionals such as CIAT, SALT & the Auditory team, I have planned their lessons following the curriculum for English and Maths (Writing and Numeracy).
I have successfully used many resources in English such as Rainbow Words and Little Wandle to support children with reading and simple sentence formation. In Maths I’ve found using concrete apparatus (numicon, blocks, Lego etc) helps the children to learn as
I have a full DBS for the school that I am employed in, a full driving licence and I’m available in the evenings and some weekends.
During the holidays I will be available during daytimes twice a week.
I’m also available for SEND respite in the evenings for 2 hours and weekends too - I have business insurance on my car.
My Qualifications
I have various SEND qualifications plus 13 years of year 3 - year 6 experience supporting children at year 1 level.
My Availability
I am available after tea time twice a week and one day at weekend for 3 hours.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £20.00 per hour
