About Me
Hello parents of Edinburgh :) My name is Elsie, I am 24 years old and have recently moved to the Leith area from New Zealand. I consider myself a very honest, fun, caring and communicative person with a lot of love to offer babies & kids and a genuine desire to help local parents in need of some extra hands-on support. I'm super adaptable and open to different arrangements: whether that's spending most days at the family home looking after the kids in their own safe space while helping out with some household chores / meal prep, or taking the kids out for regular school-runs, nature walks, games & social activities etc. I'm at your service!
Given my profile isn't the strongest or most qualified of the bunch, I'd be happy to offer parents a preliminary 2-3 free sessions (a mixture of hanging out together with the children and/or solo babysitting, whatever your preference) so that you can be assured of my suitability before proceeding. I really do appreciate the trust involved in these arrangements and look forward to becoming a fun-loving extension to some local families.
My Experience
Whilst I do not have any formal child-minding qualifications, I do have loads of casual baby-sitting experience and even UK-wide pet & house-sitting experience from which I can provide several positive reviews to corroborate my highly capable and trustworthy nature. I also have recent live-in experience tending to newborn babies aged 0-18 months, medic-certified first aid training, and advanced defensive driving skills. All that being said, full-time childcare will be fairly new for me and so I do expect to be learning a lot as we go! Naturally, I am very happy to have a 'prospective meet and greet' with parents to discuss your expectations and get to know me a bit first so we can be sure I'm a good fit for the family.

As for my unrelated qualifications (if of any interest), I have a bachelor's degree in conservation biology, environmental science & geography, as well as a master's degree in wildlife management. Amongst my studies I have worked a variety of jobs in animal care, pest control, viticulture, garden landscaping, and hospitality, as well as volunteering with tree planting initiatives, WorldVision fundraising, wildlife rescue, and children's sports coaching.
My Availability
I am looking for part or full time live-out nanny/babysitting work, preferably Mon-Fri during the day, between the hours of 6:30am - 6:00pm. I can also be flexible (i.e. on-call) when it comes to any emergency childcare requirements, or the occasional evening/weekend shift as needed. Open to both short-term (3 months) and longer-term arrangements (18 months).

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
Open to discussion regarding food / transport / activity budget for the kids. Compensation for any last-minute or overnight work can be negotiated upon meeting.
