About Me

Dear family,

The first thing I want to do is introduce myself and tell you about my experiences.

I am Yolanda, I am 60 years old, I am Spanish and I have been living in the United Kingdom for 7 years. I am a loving, kind, organized person, always punctual and always willing to help in any way and to improve. It is true that my English is not the best, however, I am able to understand conversations and also to express myself. Every day I learn something new and every day I try to improve my English.

I have a large family, we are 11 siblings and 35 nephews. I studied the Degree in Social Relations (Labor Relations) at the University and I am a teacher of Spanish for Foreigners ELE.

Since I moved to the United Kingdom I have worked as a nanny with 6 lovely families, although for a year and a half I worked as a housekeeping in 4 and 5 star hotels (intermittently).

In the families where I have worked there was one of the parents who was Spanish or knew how to speak my language, except with little Alice, her father is Swiss and speaks French or English, but with my little English girl I have been with him since Alice was 3 months old

For more than 2 years I have looked after 3 children (10 months, 4 years and 7 years), during this period I used to take the eldest to school and extracurricular activities and I spent the rest of the day with the little one going to different activities such as music, painting club, swimming classes, among others. They were 2 wonderful years, however, for work reasons the family had to leave the United Kingdom and move abroad.

With my next family I worked full time with them for more than 2 years looking after a beautiful little girl, when I took over she was barely 3 months old and I used to go out to the park, do sensory activities, swimming classes, among others. After she turned 2 she started going to daycare so I started working with her only half a day (Tuesday and Thursday nights and some weekends), I continue doing this every week from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.

With the last family and the one I am with at the moment I am taking care of two beautiful children (1 year and 3 years old). I have been working with them for the last 3 years, when I started working with them the little one was just over 3 months old and now she is 3 years old. A year ago the other one arrived and I have been taking care of both of them. I have done everything with them, I have taken them to Spain on vacation, I have also been on vacation with them in the United States, but they are leaving on September 15 to live in the United States permanently.

My day to day with them consists of taking them out from early in the morning until lunchtime, so every day I look for some activity, art gallery, museum, theater among others.

During this period of years working as a nanny, I have been and continue to be the hands and feet of each of the families I have worked with, what I try to convey is that I have been taking them to the doctor, helping them with the potty, cooking for them, etc. Also, the parents know that I am here whenever they need me.

This is just a little about me and my experience but I have more to share with you and it will be a pleasure to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you more about myself and my experiences as a nanny, courses I have taken and also references.
