About Me
I am a mum to one child who is about to start school. I opted to be a SAHM but now he is going to be starting school I would love to continue my passion for childcare by supporting other families with young children.
My Experience
My love for childcare began when I was just a teenager (about 20 years ago) when I had lots of babysitting jobs.
I went onto university for a few years and then I started working in a nursery where I was for several years caring for children 3 months- 5 years as a practitioner/room leader and subsequently deputy manager. The majority of my time in the nursery was with 0-18 month olds but as deputy manager I gained experience with all ages.
I then worked in an office environment for a few years as a Team Supervisor before leaving to have my son and I have been a SAHM since he was born in December 2019. Throughout my working time I have also worked on an ad hoc basis for friends and acquaintances looking after their children as and when required, and have continued this alongside becoming a mum myself.
I have completed paediatric first courses but I have not done one for about 6 years now but would be very happy to complete another one if required. I also do not have a current enhanced DBS check but am going to apply for one again.
When I worked in the nursery I thrived on planning and implementing age appropriate activities to support and grow each area of a child’s development. I have a good understanding of milestones and activities that can be tailored in order to support children of all abilities to reach them. I have continued this passion with my own son since he has been born in helping him thrive and develop to be ready to settle into the school environment.
My Qualifications
Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Early Learning & Childcare Comprising:
Level 3 Diploma for the CYPW: Early Learning & Childcare Pathway
Level 2 Award Employment Responsibilities & Rights in Health, Social Care or Children & Young People’s Settings
My Availability
My son is about to start school so something that fits around the school day would be preferable but can be flexible for the right family as I do have access to some after school care for my son.
