About Me
I’m Josie, I’m 23 years old and a qualified primary school teacher with a specialism in early years education (ages 3-7). I have been working and volunteering in various childcare positions since I was 14, a lot of my experience being with children and adults with special educational and complex support needs. I’m very sporty and love the outdoors. Each winter I move to Canada and work as a ski instructor in British Columbia from late November to early May. And during the summer I work at an inclusive provision for children and adults with and without disabilities.
My Experience
I have done my first year in teaching at a specialist SEN school for children with autism and complex needs. I have also worked as a care-lead with children and adults in an inclusive provision since I was 17 (6 years) where I am responsible for supporting young people with personal care (toileting/ showering/ teeth brushing etc) and medications both regular and rescue (buccal, epi pens, inhalers etc). I have worked as a part-time nanny for a family with 2 boys aged 2 and 3 which I loved! In addition to this I work seasonally in Canada as a skiing instructor in Whistler for the winter.
My Qualifications
I have a Primary and early years teaching degree as well as 3 A levels in psychology, sociology and drama.
My Availability
I am hoping to keep myself busy and working until I go back to Canada. I have work semi-organised on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays but I could changesome bits around if necessary.
