About Me
I am a psychology graduate, with experience in childcare and special educational needs.
The support we get as children shapes us into the adults we are today. Thus, great importance should be placed on understanding each child’s specific needs to help them develop to their full potential.
I have experience working in various early years settings; nursery, schools and clubs. I have worked with children of 6 months to 7 years of age, from a range of backgrounds and different abilities. Through this, I have become very familiar with the EYFS framework and acquired the knowledge and skills to help children have a successful start at school. I have safeguarding training and know the importance of keeping children safe, happy and healthy.
My enthusiasm, empathy and patience help provide the right care for each child. And allow me to be a good team player. Supporting SEND children in mainstream, I have worked within a multidisciplinary team to meet pupils ' EYFS areas and additional SEND targets. Working in a special needs school, I worked on a 1-1 basis supporting pupils and working on targets set by OP’s and EPs. I gained valuable insight, for example, into communication and attention support; PECs, macaton, and attention autism. Thus, my knowledge of children's development and intervention has expanded.
Since my degree, I have had a continued interest in child and educational psychology research. I use these skills during my employment as maintaining current evidence-based practices helps me contribute the most effectively.
I believe in creating a consistently positive approach; always praising efforts and accomplishments.Children build their confidence and know that it is okay to make mistakes, as they are still learning right from wrong.
