My Experience

When I was an undergraduate in London, I worked as a Mandarin Tutor at primary schools for after school clubs, that was fun and challenging at times! I worked there for one year, then I stopped due to attending my year abroad. After graduation, I became a SEN Teaching Assistant, that was even more challenging since the children was having a tough time adjusting to the school rules and settings. Through this experience, I certainly learned to be not so soft and gentle when it's time for building boundaries.
About 2 years ago, I moved to Hong Kong due to family reasons, and I worked as Instructor at a Japanese style playgroup, I connected with the children and parents very well. And through the playgroup programme I introduced many intellectually challenging tasks to the children from age 1 to 6 and guided them throughout the tasks. The parents I worked with there, has described me as full of energy and fun!
Now, I am undertaking teacher training in Leeds, and I want to use my spare time to get some income to support my study, and I do sincerely hope I can offer some help to a lovely family! I am also DBS checked recently due to my teacher training.

My Qualifications

GCSEs - Maths and English - B
A-levels - Sociology, English literature and History
Undergraduate - Japanese and Chinese studies
CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Cambridge English
PGCE (currently undertaking)

My Availability

I am looking to work for 2 days a week or less, I am fine even with occasional opportunities. It will be in the evenings and weekends (full day availability).
