About Me
I am a qualified primary teacher (pgce) with a languages' degree. My main strengths are teaching reading and writing, particularly to students with English as an additional language.I have worked in Learning Skills in a large private school for many years, supporting students of all ages (4-19) with a focus on language and study strategies. I really believe learning must be engaging, challenging and fun, never boring, and I work hard to match sessions to my students' interests and needs.
My Experience
Class teacher in primary school for many years, and young adults in 6th form college. More focused small group and one to one teaching in Learning Skills (mostly literacy to GCSE) and English as an Additional Language to children aged 4 to 19 in school. I have taught and examined GCSE Italian, IGCSE EAL and IELTS, and taught in IB schools overseas.
