About Me
Hello I am a mum of an 8 year old and 10 year old, live in Ackworth and I have worked in primary schools for 14 years with children aged 3-11.
If your child:
- has their phonics screening in May,
- is starting school in September,
- needs support for their SATs or tests,
- would like some extra support for any area of the curriculum,
- speaks English as an Additional Langauge (EAL),
- has a speech and language need,
- has a Special Educational Need or Disability (and is accessing mainstream school),
then I can support with their academic learning and boost confidence.
I am also available for a chat for any general questions about schools or to check your child's academic ability, I will happy to visit you for no charge. No question is too big or small !
I offer face-to-face and online tutoring.
My Experience
I am currently tutoring children 4-7 years old, supporting with reading and number recognition and deliver sessions in their own homes. We do a range of fun learning activitites, I continually assess learning pace, adjusting and tweaking where necessary, track progress to inform next steps, and keep parents up to date.
As well as teaching my own 2 children, I have taught Mathematics, Phonics and English lessons to whole class and individuals from reception to y4, I have delivered many different speech and language therapy interventions and phonics tutoring sessions to pupils with a range of needs and disabilities.
My Qualifications
PGCE (2:1).
Early Years degree (2:1).
GCSE Mathematics C, English C and double Science C.
RWI Phonics tutor.
Up to date Safeguarding training.
Up to date First Aid training.
My Availability
Evenings after 4pm. Saturday 10am-12pm.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £15.00 per hour
For children aged 3-7 I recommend 20 and 30 minute sessions.
For children over 8 I can offer longer sessions at 45-60 minutes.
Fees are calculated on planning time, creating resources and delivering the session.
Discounts given for block booking p/w (per week).
Meet-and-greet: Free.
Settling-in sessions: 5 pounds for 10 minutes.
