About Me
I was born in Scotland in 2002. My early childhood was spent with my Mum, Dad, older brother, and older sister in the rural countryside outside of Edinburgh. I attended George Heriot's School, located in Edinburgh city centre, from ages 5-18. Here I developed my love for learning and took full advantage of the many facilities at my school, including hockey, choir, football, rugby, skiing, judo, ceramics and many more. Around the age of 14, I discovered my love for childcare and I began volunteering at my school's After School Club where I would look after children aged 4-10. From here I developed meaningful relationships with many of the children and began giving specialised support to a 5-year-old boy with Autism. By forming such a strong relationship with this child, he trusted me and I was able to support him in his social and educational endeavours. My passion for helping others and forming strong relationships led me to pursue a degree in Psychology. I completed my bachelor's degree in psychology at the esteemed University of Bristol, attaining a 2:1 grade. During my degree, I found myself again drawn to the topics of childcare and child development. I believe that my deep knowledge of developmental and child psychology equips me with uniquely beneficial skills as a nanny. I graduated from the University of Bristol in the summer of 2024 and I am looking for opportunities to apply the skills I have learnt in my degree as well as my several years of childcare experience. Childcare is my primary focus and I am eager to give my all to children of any age and help the whole family in any way.
My Experience
My previous years of childcare experience have equipped me with a unique skill set that I would love to share with a loving family and their wonderful children. Whilst the children will be the centre of my focus, I am eager to provide support to the whole family, making life easier for the parents and being flexible with their schedules.
Fundamentally, the most important thing to me is to help children in any way I can. Having studied psychology, I understand the importance of children's role models and caretakers and being able to positively shape a child's development is my central goal. Embracing a child's passions and supporting their pursuits is an honour to me. I wish to encourage children to grow and flourish in the many environments they will inhabit. Working with children is my passion and to me, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing a child happy and supported in every way.
My Qualifications
I have received an Upper Second Class degree qualification in Psychology from the University of Bristol. Additionally, I have been trained in first aid.
My Availability
I am currently working as a nanny between 7:30am-9:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am available for immediate start around these hours.
