About Me
I am getting back into the work world after my mum got sick and I had to stop my job in a school, and taken care of my mum. I am very keen to get back into working with children and I miss it so much. I feel a position like this would suit my life as it is today. I look forward to helping a family and bettering myself and my experience.
My Experience
I’ve been working with children constantly for over 20 years. Firstly I was a nanny for a family with 3 children but they moved to Dublin and I ended up getting a job running the crèche in a gym. I managed the facility for 10 years. That job ended due to redundancy. I instantly got a job working for NIACRO, a support company in hydebank prison where I worked with and helped children visiting their family members whom were incarcerated. At times this was very challenging for the child and our team supported them and their families. I then apply or a job whilst still working in Hyde bank. The hours and travelling were a bit much and I wished to be more flexible and not have to travel too far. I then got the job as a special needs classroom assistant in Priory Integrated College. I worked there for 10 years till Covid hit and my mum became ill.. I’m also a singer and do this sporadically.
My Qualifications
I hold an NNEB nursery nursing degree, this is equivalent and or higher than a level 3 today. I also completed courses within school about the needs of children with different disabilities and an NVQ level 2 on special needs expertise.
