About Me
Hi! My name is Solveig. I was born in France and lived there until I was about 10 years old, before moving to New Jersey, USA, where I learned English. When I was 13, I moved again, this time to Hungary, where I lived until I was 16, after which I relocated to the UK. I’m the oldest of three siblings, and moving around so much helped us become really close. As the eldest among all my cousins as well, I often found myself responsible for looking after younger children from an early age, which taught me patience, creativity and responsibility.
I’ve since graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a full-time Immunology Master's at Imperial College London. I plan on graduating and then working in hospitals or in medical research.
My Experience
My previous experience consists of babysitting a wide variety of children picking them up from school, taking them to after-school activities, helping them do homework, looking after them during playdates,... I was also a tutor where I would be with the kids for around an hour only, each kid would be taught one-on-one sometimes it would be in quiet rooms, sometimes within their classrooms.
I love working with kids because they bring an incredible sense of curiosity, energy, and creativity into every moment. Their ability to view the world with wonder and excitement is truly inspiring, and I enjoy helping them explore and learn new things. Whether it's through imaginative play, teaching them new skills, or just being a supportive presence, I find it rewarding to be a part of their growth and development.
Their honesty and enthusiasm for life create a positive and refreshing atmosphere that makes each day unique. I love the opportunity to create safe and fun environments where they feel valued and confident, and being able to contribute to their happiness and well-being is deeply fulfilling for me.
My Qualifications
I do not have any professional childcare training, however, I have worked with kids for a long time. Looking after family friends or even for charity.
My Availability
I am quite flexible during the afternoon and the weekends, mornings would need to be scheduled in advance.
