My Summary
About Me
As a 999 call handler, I’ve developed the ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and manage stressful situations, which are essential skills for caring for children. My training in CPR, Safeguarding, and Basic Life Support ensures I’m prepared for any emergency. Additionally, my personal experience caring for my younger siblings due to my father's illness has taught me empathy, organization, and multitasking. My hands-on experience in various childcare settings, nursing experience and my education in Psychology, with a focus on child development, further equip me to be a compassionate and skilled nanny.
My Experience
I have been working as a 999 call handler, a role that has honed my ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and manage stressful situations such as delivering babies. These skills are crucial when caring for children, as they often require patience, quick thinking, and a nurturing approach. I am trained in multiple areas such as CPR, Safeguarding, and Basic Life Support and continue my training at work daily.
In addition to my professional experience, I have also taken on significant responsibilities within my own family. My father has been battling an illness ever since I was young, and with my mother working full-time, I have naturally stepped into a maternal role for my younger siblings. This experience has taught me the importance of empathy, organization, and the ability to multitask. I have been involved in their daily routines, from helping with homework to preparing meals, taking them on days out, and ensuring their overall well-being.
I also have hands-on experience with children outside my family, having worked in various childcare settings during my time as a nursing student. This has given me a well-rounded perspective on child development and the different needs of children at various stages. Further to this, during my education at Torquay Girls’ Grammar School, I studied Psychology, and one of our focused areas of study was children and their attachment styles.
I am confident that my background, both personal, professional, and educational, has equipped me with the skills and compassion necessary to be an excellent nanny.
