About Me
Hello, I am Kersti, a registered childminder. I live with my husband and 3-year-old son in a lovely neighbourhood of Levenshulme.
I believe in a gentle, child-led approach where a loving and safe environment is the centre of a child's development. I am curious about different pedagogical approaches, like Montessori and Forest school, and I practice them in my setting as well as lots of outdoor exploration and physical activity. I also highly value quiet time and rest, especially in the early years.
I am from Estonia where I studied arts and design, and my husband is from Portugal, as a multicultural family we speak 3 different languages daily. We are fascinated by all the different traditions, languages, and beliefs. My great passion is art and I use lots of creativity with kids with drama, music, scribbling, painting, sewing, and crafting. I am fascinated by books and literature and I love to share them with children during interactive story time.
My Experience
I have years of personal experience with children- raising my son, babysitting my nephews, I am coming from big family and have 5 nephews and often take care of my friends' children.

Kersti looked after my eldest son when between 1 and 3 years of his life. He would do full days with her. We have also used her baby sitting service for both our boys. recently. We only stopped because we have moved away.
Kersti's approach and ethos to childcare is kind, compassionate, thoughtful and creative. I have never met someone who is so in tune with my child and what he wants. She uses a variety of approaches discovery-led, montessori, artsbased play and tailors them to the individual child. My child was able to play freely and creatively as well as within a safe and structured environment.
Kersti strikes that great balance of being flexible accommodating and child-led but with strong and clear safe boundaries for the children. Her sense of routine is really clear and she is consistent with this. I have never understood how she got my child to nap so easily!
He was so happy in her care and talks about her and her son like part of a wider family, and I think this is testiment to how Kersti views childminding, like a caring community where respect, love and play are all celebrated. Highly recommend!

We couldn’t be happier with Kersti! She’s such a kind and gentle person with a real artistic touch, and my son absolutely adores her.
She takes him out for little adventures rain or shine, and they’re always doing something creative, like arts and crafts, dressing up, singing, and dancing.
Kersti also has a son just a few months older than mine, and they have the best time playing together!
It’s amazing to see how much my son's learnt and enjoyed himself, and Kersti is actually the only person who can get him to nap! His language and listening skills have really blossomed since he started with her, and she’s also been super flexible with my schedule, which is a huge help.
I’m just so grateful to have someone who genuinely cares and makes him so happy.
I highly recommend Kersti !!
