My Summary
About Me
My Name is Skylar, I've worked with children in many different settings, the majority of my life. It is an amazing opportunity to work with so many children and be a part of their growth. I'm a reliable person who's always up for helping, a caring individual who will put my all into caring for your little ones. I love to bake, read, and be creative. Creating an arts project, playing games, or make-believe, story telling, making sweet treats is a real joy off mine when I look after the children in my care .
My Experience
My first experience with children came from visits to my mothers old nursery, where I would help her look after the children in the baby room, ages ranging from 6 months - 2 years. My main responsibilities were to entertain/watch over the babies, make sure they slept at the appropriate time, and assist with feeding time and occasional outside trips such as to the park.
I've also had the experience of being a teaching assistant in my old primary school, with children ranging from 3-5 years old, across the length of 2 years over the years (2022-2024), too complete the volunteer work for my health and social care diploma. Through my 2 years of work, I had the responsibility of looking after the children who had SEND needs, mostly being low and high level Autism and ADHD, supporting each off there specific needs and helping them to develop there learning skills and development, by making sure they got the same opportunities as there peers even if they needed extra support.
My recent work as a deputy manager of an after-school club/ holiday camp for a year, with children ranging 5-11 years old. Where I had the responsibilities off making sure the club ran smoothly, making sure all activities were set up and altered to fit all the children no matter their age, snack, and meal prep, setting up special activities on occasions, such as smoothie making, portrait painting, make your own pancake, along with making sure all the children had fun and where safe and where safe and looked after.
