About Me
My name is Claire and I have a wealth of experience both professionally and personally of caring for and educating children at every stage of childhood, up to and including early adulthood. I am a proud mother of four adult children and having trained as a Montessori Directress, I am particularly passionate about the importance of the early years. Therefore, I love to introduce young children to creative activities both indoors and outdoors.
My Experience
I ran my own art activities venture for five years in Windsor and was a Rainbow/Brownie leader in Jesmond, Newcastle for five years. In my last position at Newcastle Preparatory School I was involved with the schools own Forest School programme as part of the curriculum.
I am also keen to share the joy of books in a relaxed way with young children to encourage early reading. I have a sound knowledge of phonics and correct letter formation and always look for ways to incorporate early maths into everyday life. Daily activities such as shopping, cooking and simple games provide a sound basis for later learning.
Personally, I believe in a well-structured routine with a respectful discipline for every child. Appropriate table manners and the importance of nutritious food is to be encouraged.
