My Requirements

we’re looking for support with our newborn, who turned 3 weeks old today. We’re facing a few challenges that have left us quite exhausted, and I would love your advice on how a night nanny service might best help us.

Here’s a bit of an overview of our current situation and needs:
• Sleep: Our baby is struggling to sleep for more than an hour or so at a time and has difficulty settling in her Snuzpod or when we try side-feeding she can’t latch well / maybe she’s too young? She just sleeps on me and is most content with that… but it’s not sleep safe as I often drop off. She’s currently sleeping in our room, but we do have a spare room available if that would be useful for a night nanny setup. My partner sleeps in there most nights as it is now,
• Feeding: I’m currently exclusively breastfeeding. I’ve tried pumping with the elvie pump but only for two days and only about 80ml came out. I’d be open to your advice if a night nurse would need milk prepared for feeds. Any guidance on what could work best here would be helpful.
• Digestive Comfort: She often gets hiccups and has been sick during the night, despite following advice not to burp her from mid wives who say you don’t need to with breast feeding we find that she does need it but doing that and the feeding really tires me out. We’ve tried using a swaddle suit, baby nest, and even a Rockit, but they sometimes seem to exacerbate her discomfort.
I’m in need of some rest, and I would appreciate any advice on the type of support you recommend.
