My Summary
About Me
I love to cook and bake and would go as far as to say that neither of those things are hobbies anymore as they’ve become a lifestyle (I will admit I’m better with a savoury dish than sweet for the most part). I make a pretty good chocolate brownie, I’d recommend having me over to bake with the kids based solely on this.
I’m a big music lover so any chance I get to pop a pair of headphones in and have a silly little dance to myself I’ll take it. I do outside activities and try to do some exercise frequently as I’m a big believer that being active and getting outdoors helps with mental health - I also love to colour in and relax inside with a book though, it massively relaxes me!
At the moment I spend my Sunday’s doing my hobbies, getting too invested in Formula 1 (usually at crazy times of day because they’re typically in further countries), watching my younger brothers playing rugby and then my brother who is 19 and I sometimes go to a local pub to do a quiz, we never win unfortunately but it’s fun to speak to the older people there, they all seem to love that we’re taking part because we’re so much younger than them and the regulars always miss us when we’ve missed a quiz or two.
My Experience
I began babysitting at around 14 for friends and families that knew us personally to earn some money during my GCSE years, however I found after finishing school and sixth form that I missed the job and working with kids in a more intimate setting where you could get to know them in their home environment and the families all became close friends rather than employers. Because of this, I decided to become a private live-in nanny at the other end of the country (from Durham to Brighton) and move away from home - I loved the work, I got on with the children so well but I was 18 at the time and left the position ultimately because I’d never been away from home properly and was still learning and maturing. Thankfully, now that I’m 21 and I’ve solo travelled south east Asia for four months, I’ve grown and matured, my timekeeping is far better than it’s ever been and I’ve got more appreciation for slowing down in life now and enjoying what’s in front of me which is why I’ve decided to go back to my roots of babysitting between travelling.
My Qualifications
I have no professional qualifications but I can provide references to families I’ve worked for in the past 24 months as well as putting you in touch with the family I was a private nanny for so that you can make sure we’re a good fit etc if that’s something you require.
My Availability
My availability differs depending on the age of the child/children that I’d be taking care of and what’s happening in my life at the moment as I don’t have much of a routine after only recently coming home from my travels in Asia. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss further but I am open to being available at all times of day as well as doing multi-day jobs or overnights.
