About Me
We are Mathieu and Anne-Sophie, a French couple who have called London home for several years (Mathieu since 2018 and Anne-Sophie since 2011). We share our home with our three beloved cats: Sapphire and Bombay, 15-year-old brothers adopted by Anne-Sophie, and Châtaigne, Mathieu’s 18-year-old cat who crossed the channel to move here with her favourite human.
Mathieu is a software engineer turned startup entrepreneur. He primarily works from home, but work keeps him busy with long hours most days of the week.
Anne-Sophie is an Office Manager for a Canadian company based in Central London. She splits her time between the office three days a week and working from home on Mondays and Fridays.
Originally from Bordeaux, we met and fell in love here in London. While we speak French at home, we both use English professionally.
We are thrilled to be expecting our first child, due in early March, and are excited to start this new chapter of our lives.
My Requirements
We are seeking a childminder to care for our daughter when we return to work following parental leave. We are considering starting childcare either in September 2025 or January 2026, with the possibility of part-time hours between September and January to allow for a smooth transition before moving to a full-time arrangement.
While we are still finalizing our exact weekly schedule, we anticipate needing childcare from Monday to Friday, approximately from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. However, the schedule may be more flexible, and we will confirm closer to the start date.
We are looking for a native English-speaking childminder who is articulate and places a strong emphasis on outdoor activities, weather permitting.
We value a childminder who aligns with our educational approach, which prioritises:
- Engaging and interactive care, with lots of meaningful interactions.
- Encouraging self-esteem, confidence, curiosity, tolerance, and kindness.
- No use of screens around our child.
- A strict policy against posting photos or content about our child on social media or the internet.
Nice to have: know the baby sign language.
