My Experience

I have extensive experience working with children across various educational and care settings. As a qualified primary teacher with a PGDE from the University of Strathclyde, I currently teach in Argyll and Bute, supporting a wide range of learners, including those with additional support needs (ASN). I also have experience providing one-to-one and group tutoring for primary-aged pupils and young learners up to 14 years old, which was organised and run by local authorities through the schools I worked in, focusing on boosting their attainment and confidence across the curriculum.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have a strong background in childcare, having provided babysitting services at homes. I have covered a range of hours: from lunchtime to bedtime, and for evening sitting only. I am confident in managing household tasks such as feeding children, tidying toys, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

I bring diverse experience to my role, as I am a classically trained musician who enjoys the arts and promotes outdoor activities whenever possible to support children's wellbeing. I believe in providing a balanced approach that encourages creativity, learning, and a connection with nature.

Beyond childcare, I have provided cleaning services for a local holiday lodge company, gaining experience in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. I also hold a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate, which complements my ability to ensure a hygienic and safe environment when preparing or handling food.

My Availability

I currently work Wednesday to Friday for Argyll and Bute Council as a class teacher.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
• Tutoring from £25.00 per hour

I charge £12 per hour for babysitting, with the rate applying if the child is already in bed, making it a great option for parents who need a reliable sitter for an evening. This price includes free travel within a 10-mile radius of Milngavie. If additional services are required, such as feeding, tidying up, or other specific tasks, I adjust the rate accordingly, typically charging more to cover these additional responsibilities.

**After midnight**, the hourly rate increases to £17 per hour to account for late-night care.

For tutoring, I offer services at £25 per hour for one-to-one sessions. I also provide a group booking discount, which is ideal for families with multiple children or a group of children who would benefit from shared learning. Please note that this offer does not apply to National 4/5 or above tutoring, as this level requires specialised knowledge and preparation.
