About Me
Hello. My name is Steph and I live in Woking with my husband, our 3 children, our two black labs and a dozen chickens.
I live in a detached house with a large garden in a quiet cul-de-sac not far from Woking park, leisure centre and station.
I have been childminding for over 20 years and have found it to be the most satisfying career. I have minded many children ranging from babies to children after school.
My husband works alongside me as an assistant which means more hands on deck and gives a more balanced home from home atmosphere.
We do school pick ups and drop offs for Greenfields School only.
My Experience
Having originally been a teacher, I left to have my first daughter and it was then I decided to become a childminder.
I have now been a registered childminder for over over 20 years
I also have a level three in childcare from City and Guilds as well as the usual first aid and safe guarding certificates.
My Qualifications
Along with the usual childminding qualifications I also have an up to date first aid qualification.

We needed “emergency” childcare for our five month old daughter as I was returning to work and our son’s nursery only take babies from 6 months plus. I can’t believe how lucky we were to find Steph and Peter. They made going back to work full time with two children under the age of 3 a million times easier.
Their setting is a home from home environment where your little one will be loved and cared for. They go completely above and beyond for every child. If you are considering a childminder in the Woking area look no further.
Our little one absolutely adored going to Steph and Peter’s and we hope to keep in touch with them now that she has settled into nursery.

We moved to the UK with a 10 month old and the biggest uncertainty and worry for us was childcare. I consider ourselves very very lucky to have found Steph and Peter in the first instance. Our son has now been with them for almost 2 years and there hasn’t been a single day when he is not excited to go to Steph and Peters house.
Their care has a personal touch which most nurseries fail to provide and the way they make kids do different activities / take them out to museums, parks, lakes / take them to group helps shape the child in a well rounded manner. Our son has really thrived in their care and we see him shaping into a humble, caring and independent individual.
I can’t recommend them enough!
P.s. - We were considering moving out of Woking but the only reason we are not actioning this yet is because of the care our son gets at Steph and Peters house

My son has been with Steph and Peter for 3 months now and loving it. We recently moved to Woking and I was worried the transition from one childminder to another would be tough on him but Steph and Peter made it so easy and he has settled in so well. He loves the outdoor adventures, going to the group sessions and seeing the dogs. His confidence and character has grown so much since joining them. Steph and Peter keep me updated with his development and are great with working together to give my little one combined, consistent care.I can’t recommend them enough.

Two of our children (2 and 4) have been with Steph and Peter since we decided to move away from a local nursery nearly 6 months ago. They have been continuously kind and thoughtful as well as great with the kids. Both our children adore them and look forward to their days together.
They attend local groups, which the kids love, do outings and spend relaxed time at home.
They have a more personal approach than we had gotten before, sending pictures and comments on the boys’ time as well as a secure Facebook to share group updates.
Peter handles all the finances ensuring we get the most out of the government funding
We arrived here through personal recommendations and would highly rate and recommend them ourselves.

Currently we have 2 of our 3 children attending The Little preschool.
We can say hand over heart that Steph and her husband are providing our 2 youngest with a varied and rich experience each week. They are able to do things that our eldest did not benefit from in a larger nursery. They are able to go on nature walks, feeding the ducks, plane spotting, and go to playgrounds. They meet up with other local childminders a couple of times a week either as a group at a hall or informally for further socialisation with children their age. They also have some days where they stay and play and create at their house. What I particularly like is my children are with each other; whereas when we were at a nursery with my eldest and middle son they might have only crossed paths in the garden.
In our experience, Steph and Peter work with parents where possible regarding particular children’s development or needs (obviously in balance with meeting the whole groups needs), and are practical. They have a wealth of experience between their own children and the many years they have been childminding.
We are grateful that other parents in our eldest’s class referred us to them when we were looking for childcare options earlier this year. In fact, we wish we found them sooner for our middle son who will be going to reception next academic year.

Steph and Peter are fantastic! Along with providing a nurturing environment, they also incorporate outdoor walks into the daily routine. This not only keeps the children active but also exposes them to nature, enhancing their learning and development. My child loves exploring the outdoors with them, and it’s wonderful to see them fostering a love for nature at such a young age. Highly recommend them!

We are so happy and lucky to have Stephanie and Peter in our lives. Our boys have been with them for a decade now. They (the boys) are better people because of this, and they (the boys) love Stephanie and Peter. Utterly caring, utterly fun environment with loads of excursions and activities, dogs and chickens. Three cheers for Stephanie and Peter :)

I had Steph & her husband Pete look after my little girl for a few months when she was only 6 months old from March 2015. My baby absolutely thrived under their care and every morning was full of smiles at drop off. Everyday they would take Amélie to the park or song group or another exciting activity. I can't recommend the Valentins highly enough.
