My Experience

I currently working working part time at Oasisplay as a play worker. In my capacity as a playworker I work with children of differing ages and abilities. I have worked in both 1:10 settings and 1:1 setting with SEN children. I help facilitate young people in their play allowing them to find their own self expression in an inclusive environment.

I enjoy babysitting and have babysat for babies, toddlers and older children, including those with Down Syndrome. I have food hygiene certification, will prepare nutritious food and am an expert at getting fussy eaters to eat. I make bathtime and bedtime fun, allowing those, who may be reluctant, to close the day and sleep well.

I assisted a teacher in teaching design and technology (D.T) lessons to a group of Year 7s. The D.T class is a dangerous environment and so I developed clear communication skills and observation skills allowing me to assess the danger and communicate instructions to insure their safety.

I volunteered at an after school Maths club at Dunraven primary school. I worked as a support worker helping children develop skills in Maths. I learnt different strategies to educate and engage young learners.
