My Summary
About Me
I am a patient, understanding and adaptable person who enjoys creating fun, engaging and safe environments where children feel supported and happy. Over the past 5 years I have gained extensive experience caring for children in various settings. My babysitting duties often include school drop-offs and pick-ups, preparing healthy meals, supporting with bedtime or nap routines and keeping the house tidy by cleaning up after activities or during quiet times. I always aim to make each day enjoyable by coming up with fun activities and games.
When babysitting I love spending time outdoors whether it’s at the park or playing in the garden. I also enjoy encouraging creativity through activities like messy play, arts and crafts and imaginative games. Some examples include making playdough, painting, colouring, or reading stories. These activities not only keep children engaged but also support their curiosity and social skills.
My Experience
I have been working and studying in childcare for 5 years. Over that time I have completed my Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education Diploma, alongside additional certifications such as Understanding Autism, Safeguarding, Safe Handling of Medication, Behaviour that Challenges and Phonics training. During my journey, I have volunteered at Manor Drive Primary Academy, Welbourne Primary Academy, Queen Katharine Academy, and Manor House Nursery School in Werrington, working with children aged 1 to 15 years.
In addition to my volunteer work, I have worked with agencies such as Tradewind Recruitment, Textbook Teachers, and Monarch Education as a teaching assistant. Through these roles, I have gained further experience working in primary schools, secondary schools, and special educational needs schools across Peterborough with children aged 4-17.
Much of my experience comes from working with children in a variety of settings. In nursery settings I have worked in the toddler and preschool rooms, leading sensory activities such as messy play, story time and arts and crafts as well as supporting children during meal and nap times. In primary schools I have supported children in Reception and Year 2, helping with phonics lessons, numeracy and literacy activities and outdoor play. I also mentored a 7 year old child with social and behavioural difficulties using strategies to build confidence. I have also provided one-to-one support to children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD and Down’s syndrome.
I have been babysitting for family and friends for the past 4 years, caring for children aged 1-12 years. This has included preparing meals, providing overnight care, supporting with cooking and cleaning and engaging children in fun activities.
I am available for babysitting on weekdays after school hours and evenings, as well as overnight care. I can also provide care on weekends and during school holidays.
I love working with children and enjoy helping them learn, grow, and feel supported. Whether it’s through fun activities, learning support or simply being there for them, I always aim to make a positive difference.
