My Experience
I am the eldest of my six siblings who I have cared for alongside my Mum from a very young age. The experience and joyful memories of doing this lead me into my dream career of working with children. I have been working at a nursery for just over six years now and couldn’t be happier. I have completed first aid courses over this time of employment, along with currently studying for my Level 3 Childcare qualification. I am currently in the role of room manager for the Baby Room, caring for children between the ages of 4 months- 16 months, while also teaching and guiding my team of colleagues. I absolutely love my job and appreciate how rewarding it can be. I form many strong bonds with families and carers, along with external agencies when working with children who require extra support. I also oversee all children under the age of 2 within the nursery by providing support for them and families where needed. Although I’m currently working with babies, I have a wide variety of experience of working with children from 0-5. I also, a few years ago, did some work experience in primary schools. I did this while studying at university to be a primary school teacher, however decided to pull out as my heart was with the early years sector.
My Qualifications
-Fully paediatric first aid trained
-Mental Health first aid trained
-Currently studying my level 3 childcare (nearly finished)
My Availability
I currently work 42.5 hours a week at a nursery, where I’ve been for 6 years now. I work 7:30-6:30 everyday, apart from Thursdays which I have off. I am available weekends.
