About Me
Hi! I am a DBS checked, Natural Sciences Undergraduate at Lancaster University with coming up to four years work experience in a prestige forest school nursery. Working with young children has become my passion over the last four years as I have developed my own skill set through my employment at the nursery. I have recently travelled South East Asia, visiting destinations such as Japan, South Korea and Singapore, and are working towards saving up money during my degree programme to allow me travel further after my studies.
My Experience
I work part time at the nursery in the holidays while completing my degree in earth sciences, environmental biology, and geography. This job has taught me a world of new skills, such as how to provide meaningful, educational, yet fun activities for the children, how to remain level headed and responsive in stressful situations and communication skills with both adults and the children. Although not formal qualifications, over the years I have received thorough training in first aid, safeguarding, meaningful play and much more.
My Qualifications
I received six A*s/As and three Bs at GCSE, with an A in maths and english language and an A* in english literature. I also received two A*s at A level in Psychology and an extended project qualification on renewable energy options in developing countries, and two As in Biology and Geography. I am currently working at a first in my degree programme, taking a wide variety of modules, such as eco-innovation, evolution, aquatic ecology, volcanology, and many more. As previously mentioned, although not formal qualifications, I do also have training in first aid and safeguarding.
My Availability
The availability checked is provisional - due to my changing university timetable, my availability will vary on a weekly basis. However, outside of my studies I am flexible and have my own car, allowing me more freedom with work availability.
