Hi there! My name is Kayla and I’m originally from New York, studying my masters in International Relations here in Edinburgh. I did my undergrad in Maine, where I played lacrosse and took full advantage of all the outdoor activities the state has to offer. I have loads of experience with children, including nannying, babysitting, summer camp counseling, and volunteering. I love to cook and bake, be outside, and try to learn something new every day!
I’m a great cook and baker and encourage kids to help with it, while also maintaining a safe environment. I grew up playing multiple sports, and I love being outside and playing different games. I conduct science experiments and crafts with kids, engaging them outside of TV time
My Experience
I’ve looked after siblings and cousins within my family. I’ve babysat all ages of children since 2012, keeping kids entertained and engaged, while also making dinner for them. I played games, did crafts and science experiments, helped with homework and put them to bed at an appropriate time. I was also a camp counsellor for three years for kids ages 3-6. My main responsibilities were keeping the kids engaged while also ensuring a safe environment. During my time at my undergrad, I also was a volunteer for Hardy Girls Healthy Women, where we went to low-income middle schools in the area and talked to middle school girls about their passions and how to pursue them.

I have looked after children for years in different capacities, from babysitting and nannying, to summer camp counseling, to sports coaching, to working in schools.
My Availability
I'm currently a Master's student so I have lots a flexibility around my class schedule.
