Hi families!
My name is Lacey, 26 from Portsmouth. I have lots of childcare, teaching and Au Pair experience. Before arriving back in the U.K in June 2021, I had been in Australia working as an Au Pair for 18 months. I have an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education as well as being first aid trained and a strong swimmer and I have a full enhanced DBS check. Before going to Australia, I worked in a nursery with children between the ages of 3 months old and 5 years for 2 years.
For the last 3 and a half years since returning to England, I have been working in child protection and children’s social care for the government. I am currently taking a career break so I am available at all times, evenings, weekends and overnights also.
I am very positive, fun and bubbly but also mature, honest and responsible. I genuinely love children and want to make a difference in yours and your child’s life. I have a kind, affectionate nature and I genuinely love spending time with children - playing, laughing and watching them grow and learn. I like to think I have a very good sense of humour and I’m very easy to get along with. I’m laid back, flexible and happy to go with the flow but also super organised and understand how important routine is. I love all animals as well as cooking and baking and can also clean - I don’t mind getting stuck in!
My Experience
I have worked with all different types of families and dynamics. I have worked for parents who have been very present in their child's life and just need a helping hand or occasional babysitting and I have also worked for parents who prefer me to take on a more 'motherly' role. I am confident in my abilities and I am comfortable with all ages and situations when it comes to child care.
I have an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education, as well as being first aid trained. Before going to Australia, I worked in a daycare, with children between the ages of 3 months old and 5 years for 2 years. I was a live in au pair for 3 different families in Perth and 1 in Sydney. One with 3 children; 4 year old twins and a 2 year old, 2 children ages 10 and 12, a family with 3 children ages 6 months, 3 and 4 and another family with 4 children between the ages of 3 and 7 so I have a lot of experience with all different age groups. 3 of my host families went on holiday, trips and weekends away whilst I was with them without the children, feeling completely comfortable leaving them solely in my care.
