About Me
Hello. I am a mum of two that have now flown the nest. I have just moved to Marsden on my own having bought a house there. I worked in HR for a decade, then became a childminder for a year, after which I started work at a large secondary school in Tameside where I am still working 13 years later. I love my job, but have most weekends and evenings, as well as school holidays now free. So to do some babysitting during these times would be a perfect way to earn some extra money at the same time as enjoying helping others.
I am a very active person, enjoying all outdoor activities, but especially rock climbing. I am also musical and play the piano, clarinet and trumpet. I enjoy being with friends and cooking. I am especially passionate about clean, healthy food. I'm definitely up for some fun activities whilst looking after children, and am especially big on giving children confidence in the kitchen from an early age.
I am confident looking after all ages. I know each child is unique and like to understand who they are and how best to support and encourage them.
I am more than happy to meet in person first and answer any questions you may have. I am acutely aware that engaging me to care for your children would require huge trust, so would want to reassure you and learn all about how you like things done and any special requirements.
My Experience
I have experience of all ages, firstly my own children are 17 and 20. I was a childminder for a year in 2011. I co-founded a creche at a local church when my own children were young. I often nanny my friends children in London (6 and 10) while they go away. I have worked in a variety of roles at a large local secondary school, so am DBS checked, as well as able to provide professional references upon request. I am fully first aid trained, as well as all the usual safeguarding training which I receive annually. I have day to day experience in dealing with teenagers aged 11-16.
