Me and my wife, Mirna, are looking to find a part-time nanny for our six-month old son, Mihael.
Mihael is our only child – so we’re very much parents learning on the job! Mihael is a calm, engaging and alert child, fond of play and seeing and doing new experiences.
We live just off the top end of the King’s Road in Harrogate. I grew up in the Harrogate, Knaresborough, York area and my wife is a Croatian national, but fluent in English. I’ve lived in Harrogate for nearly five years, my wife nearer two years. It is fair to say that we only know a few people in Harrogate, mostly neighbours and a few people from the antenatal classes we took, and so we have a limited support network for helping with our son.
While I work mostly in York (with 1-2 days working from home per week), it means Mirna has Mihael near continuously during the working week which is challenging, especially as it limits her ability to keep her professional work ticking over and generally find a little bit of time for herself.
My Requirements
We’re looking someone to help us with child rearing support for up to 16 hours per week during the working week – mostly to take the pressure off Mirna.
We’re relatively flexible as to how the hours might be arranged over the week, but likely something along the lines of a full day, and 1-2 half days or 3 x 4-5 hour days.
As my wife tends to travel to Croatia for a few months each year with Mihael, it would likely be for about 8-9 months of the year.
We’d be looking for a start time of as soon as possible.
The arrangement would be for nanny help in our home, with Mirna always and also sometimes myself present. The role would be to engage with Mihael in play, any feeding (he’s on formula during the daytime), and care for when he needs to nap. When the weather improves, it might also involve some walks outside nearby.
