My Summary
About Me
I'm 40 years old, crazy about motorsports and metal music, and now venturing into a new carer path.
I have an 18 year old daughter and a 16 year old son who has ASD.
Having worked in early years for most of my carer, I moved on to primary school teaching. I felt that before I truly found what year groups I wished to stay with, I needed to have more experience in other years.
This led me to work in a senior school as a safeguarding officer within the student support office. This job was fast-paced and gave me lots of opportunities to work with parents, partner agencies, and older children. Despite this, I missed early years, and the fun I found learning through play brings.
So here I am, starting on a new journey with childminding back in early years!
Our setting opening March/April 2025 will be a new placement with a forest area outside.
My Experience
I've worked from being a volunteer all the way to completing my Primary Teaching degree.
I am also a qualified Safeguarding lead, a qualified Senior Mental Health Lead and am trained to help families and children via Early Help Skills Training.
I have a child with ASD and feel I have a good knowledge of SEND. Not only from being his Mum but from my time working in schools.
