About Me

Hello! I’m Freida, a single mum seeking a kind, patient, and playful babysitter for my 6-year-old son on an occasional, ad hoc basis, primarily on weekends. I’m looking for someone who can help provide me with some much-needed freedom and respite so I can take time for myself.

My son has some minor additional support needs, and we’re exploring the possibility of an autism diagnosis, though he hasn't been assessed yet. His behaviours align with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and I'm looking for someone who is experienced with children who require extra support would be ideal but not essential

The ideal babysitter would be calm, understanding, reliable, and flexible, with the patience to support my son in his own way. It's important to me to find someone who can build a strong, trusting relationship with him and is able to adjust to his needs, especially when things don't go as planned.

My son is full of energy, strong-willed, and I encourage him to have the freedom to choose how he spends his time. He feels most comfortable in his home environment and thrives on routine and structure. He has some sensory preferences and enjoys specific foods, which should be kept in mind. He attends school for a short period each day. He's quite independent and happy to entertain himself with his favourite activities, like Minecraft and LEGO. He enjoys background noise while he plays, so usually listens to audiobooks or the radio while he plays.

While he enjoys his independent time, he’s also very open to play and goofing around. He responds especially well to extreme silliness and fun bubbly characters who can get on board with the play.
