My Summary
About Me
I would describe myself as a person who is passionate for caring for others. Being kind and approachable to people enables me to always be motivated to strive for success. Remaining focused and hardworking comes naturally to me when enjoying my line of work. Family and friends are extremely important to me, I treat all people with the same respect, understanding and support. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy a challenge and always complete tasks to the best of my ability. I have passion for caring for others I am currently working part time in a residential care home, whilst I pursue my childcare and early years diploma level 3 as working with children is always a future ambition of mine however, I do love caring for the elderly on the side as I believe it’s a duty of mine to ensure they are receiving the best care as possible when being so vulnerable.
My Experience
For my Level 3 child care and early years diploma we have to attend placements my first one being St Oswald’s Primary School. I worked with age ranges of 3-5 for 350 hours where I set up my own activities to help children progress with their developmental milestones, ensure their emotions and well-being are considered and create positive connections and bonds with the children. Upon request I can provide a reference from Jane Hipkins who was the reception teacher of the class. Secondly, I attended Wyre Forest Primary School which is an SEN school the children I worked with ages from 5-9 for 100 hours, the school mixed the classes on their children’s abilities, disabilities and similarities. Throughout my time as this placement, I connected with the children through play time getting to know each children disabilities in order to create activities for children to feel included in and also some children needed assisting through meal times due to their disability. I can also provide a reference from the year 1 teacher Rosie Thorpe. Thirdly I attended Deerhurst Nursey for my age ranges of 0-2 for 50 hours duties I carried out duties such as bottle feeding, nappy changing, reading and singing nursey rhymes to be able to make secure connections with the youthful children. Finally, I am back at my originally placement St Oswald’s primary school completing my 2-3 age range for 260 hours before my college course ending in June 2025. I will be again setting up activities to help children progress in areas of their development, making strong positive connections with the children and also as one of my last requirements I will be carrying out a longitudinal study on a child to help them overcome a delay or area they may struggle in which can also have a positive outcome on the mental well-being.
