About Me
My name is Steven, and I am a qualified Primary school teacher currently working on supply in Glasgow. With over six years of tutoring experience, I have successfully worked with Primary 1 to 7 children, including those with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
I am an extremely hardworking and motivated individual who will strive to achieve success with every child I teach. I regard myself as a nurturing individual and will always support and encourage children throughout their learning journey.
I have obtained GTCS full registration and completed my PGDE at Strathclyde University.
Prior to this, I obtained a join honours degree in History and Politics at the University of Dundee.
I focus on creating a friendly, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Each lesson is carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of the child, ensuring it is both relevant and engaging. I offer lessons in Maths, English, or any other areas of the curriculum required, alongside assistance with homework.
I provide all necessary resources, including books and workbooks, and often incorporate technology to enhance the learning experience. My approach is always encouraging and motivating, as I strive to help children achieve their very best. I have built positive relationships with previous pupils and have seen great success in their progress.
In addition to tutoring, I also have experience of looking after children and would be able to assist with this also. I can provide a PVG certificate.
My Experience
I am a primary school teacher with over six years of teaching experience, having taught all stages from Primary 1 to Primary 7 across various aspects of the curriculum. My experience includes working as an EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher and providing targeted intervention for small groups in both maths and English.
Additionally, I have worked as a private tutor for eight years, during which I built excellent rapport with all my students. I have also had the opportunity to teach abroad, working in Vietnam as an English language support teacher. Throughout my career, I have supported children with a wide range of Additional Support Needs (ASN), always striving to provide tailored support to meet their individual needs.
