My Summary
About Me
Hi! My name is Sanjana, and I have always loved working with children and supporting their learning and development. I currently work as an Assistant Psychologist at the NHS, where I work with young people and children. I am looking to broaden my experience in childcare and tutoring, as I find working with children and families incredibly rewarding.
I am 23 years old and recently moved to Bury, having previously lived in Glasgow, Manchester, and London. With a degree in Biomedical Science and a Master’s in Psychology, I have a strong understanding of child development, learning styles, and emotional well-being.
I am a kind, patient, and engaging person who naturally connects with children. I love arts and crafts, singing, and creative play, making learning fun and interactive. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment where children feel valued, confident, and excited to learn.
My Experience
I have experience working with children and young people, both in healthcare and educational settings. As an Assistant Psychologist at the NHS, I provide brief interventions and emotional support to children and adolescents, helping them manage challenges like anxiety, low mood. My role requires me to be empathetic, non-judgmental, and skilled at managing risk, ensuring that children feel heard and supported. In addition, I worked as a Support Worker for Children with Special Needs for 10 months, where I supported children aged 5 to 18 in math, puzzles, arts and crafts, and sensory activities. This role helped me develop strategies to adapt to different learning styles and create an inclusive, engaging environment. In both these roles, I have/ do work closely with families, offering guidance and helping them create positive environments for their child’s well-being. I have also worked as a Maths Tutor for children with special educational needs, using a patient and tailored approach to help them build confidence and improve their skills. My experience as a Diabetic Screener at the NHS further strengthened my ability to communicate with children in a calm, compassionate, and reassuring way—skills that are essential in childcare and tutoring.
