Hello! My name is Alicia, and I am originally from Malaysia. I have been living in the UK for the past two years, where I recently completed my studies. I already own a visa with the right to work in the UK, so there will be no need for any sponsorship :) I am an independent, responsible, and kind person and I’ve always enjoyed working with children.
My Experience
While I was still in Malaysia, I worked part time as a drama teacher, managing a class of 25 students and conducting creative sessions for children aged 7 to 16. I loved coming up with creative sessions and always tried to introduce different activities each day to keep things fun and engaging for each individual.
Additionally, during my internship in Cardiff, I worked as a teaching assistant for young people with learning disabilities, and those sessions were some of the most special experiences for me. The kids brought so much joy and energy into the room, and I truly loved each and every one of them. It also taught me a lot about working with different personalities and abilities, making sure everyone felt included and valued.
Even though I don’t have formal care experience with younger children, I have a younger sister who is nine years younger than me, so I am familiar with the responsibility and playing with the younger ones. Additionally, my first language is Mandarin so if you would like it, I'd be more than happy to introduce your kids to the language :)
I currently work in a restaurant as a waitress and have been living independently, so I am comfortable with household tasks and keeping things organised. I also love cooking and would be happy to help with meals if needed.
