My Summary

My Experience

I have a range of experience that has helped me to be confident and capable caring for and working with, children and young people. I have experience with, and knowledge of, SEN and I am pediatric first aid trained.
As a young person, I taught a group of children every weekend for 6 years, looking at cultural heritage and social justice, gaining valuable skills around informal education and near-peer mentorship. As I enjoyed this so much, I then began a Primary Teaching Degree with the Open University part-time and worked part-time in a primary school, in their before and after school club. Here, I prepared breakfasts and afterschool snacks, following food safety standards and allergy policy, and working with the children on home and school work, as well as running sessions using the 16 play types including arts and crafts, sports, drama, and games. Additionally, in the school holidays, I worked for Ofsted registered sports camp Kings Camp where I ran sports and games sessions based on the principles of staying active and having fun. Here, I was relied upon as a first aider and to work with parents to ensure each child was individually supported. I then decided to move to Brighton and transfer to the Uni of Sussex where I am currently completing my degree. Whilst on my course I have had even more opportunity to gain experience in schools, working with a wide range of children in a range of settings. Moreover, my degree is providing me with useful and current research and insights that continually inform my practice.
Before moving to Brighton I also worked as a housekeeper and duty manager in a hotel, meaning I know my way around a cleaning cupboard! This experience also means I am comfortable in leadership positions, being able to manage difficult situations independently and within a team.

I have a Cert of Higher Education in Primary Education Studies (Level 4 - Distinction)
I am currently completing my second year of BA Childhood and Youth
I am pediatric first aid trained and am on the DBS update service

My Availability

I am a current student meaning my availability may change slightly but I am also able to be flexible. Please feel free to contact me if you think we would be a good fit even if I may not appear available.

My Fees

• Nannying from £12.00 per hour (gross)

My standard rate is £12.50/hour. I appreciate how expensive childcare is, I am open to some negotiation/ideas such as nanny-share, and ideally would like to find something that works for both of us!
