About Me
I am Sarah, I am a Mum of three grown up children aged 20, 19 and 16 and married to Richard. We are all DBS checked and I am an Ofsted registered childminder with complete first aid safeguarding and food hygiene qualifications.
My setting is Oakwood Childminding and is a home from home, nurturing environment that provides a learning through play curriculum to meet the EYFS guidelines. I have a clean, safe play area, utility room with downstairs toilet and changing station, and a large secure garden.
Our daily routines include sensory play, outdoor play, story/song time as well as outings to soft play, the park, playgroup, Eureka, The deep, library etc.
It is important to me to build good relationships with parents to work together to help children meet their next steps and individual goals as well as encouraging independence.
My Experience
I am a qualified teaching assistant and come from an SEN background. I have a completed a wide range of courses and have good knowledge of early years care and education as well bringing up my own children.

My Availability
I offer childcare between the hours of 7:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday. Flexibility of these hours can be arranged if needed.
I currently have a space available from August/September Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Our little boy has been with Sarah for just over a year now and he loves it. He’s so settled in her care and it’s so nice to see him developing so well. Sarah’s great at communicating what they’ve been doing on a daily basis. Sarah plans lots of activities for the children to do whether it’s at home or going to playgroups, soft plays, trips out. We would highly recommend Sarah.

My little girl started with Sarah in December. She loves it there and is so happy and settled. Sarah provides loads of activities for them to do at home and are often out in the garden. She also takes them out to playgroups and soft play. It’s a great comfort knowing how happy and safe my little girl is with Sarah and her family.

Sarah has minded our boy girl twins for over a year. They’ve attended her setting four days a week since they were 26 months old, with 1-2 other children present depending on the day.
The children are safe and nurtured at Sarah’s setting. They don’t look back when they walk in the door. She arranges structured activities and free play at home, regular trips to local playgroups and soft play, and trips further afield including Lotherton Hall, Eureka and the Deep. The children are developing so well in the key skill areas and are being prepared well for their next steps. Above all, they have fun and they truly love Sarah and her family.
