My Experience

For over 15 years, I’ve been self-employed as a TEFL tutor (I have a website that I can't share here), offering English lessons as well as proofreading and editing services. I help clients with everything from job and visa applications to university admissions. My teaching style is warm and communicative — I focus on building confidence, helping students achieve their goals and aspirations and making learning generally fun.
I’m now looking to take on some additional work, ideally in the Islington or Camden area. While I don’t have formal experience in childcare, I grew up with much younger siblings and have taught English to both children and teenagers. I’d be happy to help with reading, homework, creative projects, extracurricular activities and more. I also have a wide range of interests, especially in arts, culture and the outdoors, which I’d love to share with the child(ren).
I’m easy to get along with, and I’m confident the child(ren) would feel comfortable around me quite quickly. I also build strong, respectful relationships with adults and would work well with the wider family. I’m happy to follow routines and instructions, but I’m also very proactive. Most importantly, I stay calm under pressure and would be a reassuring presence in the home.
