Hello! I’m Helia, a private tutor based in sheffield. Im currently studying for a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, with an MSc in Neuroscience and years of experience in tutoring and childcare. My approach is holistic and centred on understanding your child’s learning preferences, the gaps in their knowledge. I support children achieve learning goals and build their confidence in core subjects.
I’ve worked with children aged 1 to 16 in both one-on-one and small group settings, and previously managed an after-school tutoring centre. I’m well-versed in the UK curriculum and deeply attuned to children’s emotional and cognitive needs. My strength lies in designing personalised learning plans that support academic progress alongside emotional wellbeing, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
My sessions are fun, structured, and tailored to your child’s unique needs. Together, we’ll identify learning gaps, set achievable goals, and use evidence-based strategies to build confidence and understanding. Whether your child needs support catching up, preparing for exams, or boosting their motivation, I’ll be there to guide them every step of the way.
My Experience
I have extensive experience working with children from as young as 1 year old up to age 16. With both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology, I bring a deep understanding of child development, emotional wellbeing, and how to meet each child’s individual needs.
